About Us
What We Believe
We are a confessional Lutheran church that preaches the Gospel and administers the sacraments. We proclaim forgiveness for all through Jesus Christ. We believe that the teaching of God’s Word, as it is faithfully set forth in the 1580 Book of Concord, has first place in our faith and life.
Our Redeemer Lutheran is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). If you are interested in a more detailed examination of our beliefs, follow this link to the WELS website.
What We Value
We do everything to the glory of God and the salvation of mankind.
The means of grace are the foundation of our ministry.
As Jesus came to serve and not to be served, we seek to serve others.
We are committed to a bold and vigorous confession of the faith.
We foster a climate of empowerment and ownership.
We strive for the highest standard of excellence in all that we do.
Where We Have Been
Our Redeemer was founded in 1954 and has been serving the neighborhoods of Madison’s west side ever since. Our Redeemer moved to its current location and opened a school in 1975. In recent years, we've opened an early childhood center as well. Come visit our campus!
Where We Are Going
Our Redeemer is pursuing new opportunities to cultivate community in the church and neighborhood. Through groups oriented toward study, service, and friendship we are building a presence in our city where God’s people can bear one another’s burdens and share the joys of life together.
